Life Changing Relationships
How Mustangs Help Us
Stories of transformation, healing, and growth inspired by the Mustang.

Chris Waldhaus | Cascade Trails Mustang Sanctuary
“Partnering with Mustangs has been a truly life changing experience. Mustangs have an incredible ability to listen with depth, holding space in a way that makes me feel completely seen and understood. With their unwavering support, I’ve been able to embrace my authentic self, grow in ways I never imagined, and step into the best version of myself. The Mustang’s presence, insight, and encouragement has transformed not only my confidence but also my ability to navigate life with clarity and purpose. I can’t recommend Mustangs enough they are truly a gift!”

Celeste Banks | Wildheart Horsemanship
“My mustang was one of the best decisions of my life. He was a 6-year-old gelding who wasn’t accepted, by the other mustangs in holding and no one wanted to adopt the outcast. However I took a chance and adopted him and he has forever impacted my life. He has shown me you can overcome hard challenges and make it out even better on the other side. Today, he is my best riding horse and one of a kind. Forever grateful I took a chance.”

Layla | LC Mustangs
“I have two mustangs, Alastor and Story. Alastor, I got when I was in 6th grade, and we almost sold him many times because he was just so hard, but he has taught me more about myself than any horse ever could. He taught me that really horses don’t care for shows and eventing and that if he didn’t wanna do something, I had to listen. He’s the reason I took a whole new path in my horse journey of training untouched mustangs, which is where Story comes into play. I got Story last year for the 2024 Mustang Makeover, and he was and is one of the most playful and willing horses I’ve ever worked with, so much so I ended up buying him back from the show. But he’s like Alastor—you can’t just do what you want; he has to want to do it too. Mustangs teach so much because they aren’t just bred to do anything for anyone, but when you reach the point where a mustang trusts you, it’s a magical feeling.”

Taylor Garrett
“My mustang, Mac, came to me with a broken spirit. At that time, I had lost a very special cat 3 months before and saved up enough money for my own horse. It was a match made in heaven. At first, it was a little rocky, but we have healed each other. He has taught me patience, he has taught me even when the world sees you differently, you go out and show them all you can do. He is my best friend and my heart horse and I would be nothing without him. We have taught each other no matter what as long as you have one good friend and companion then you will be okay.” Taylor Garrett.

Jaime Davis | Two Bay Ranch Co
“After surviving an abusive marriage, that left me filled with anxiety, self doubt and fear, losing my mom and then losing my heart horse of 24 years, a little reservation Mustang filly that I didn’t know I needed came into my life. She has rekindled my passion for horsemanship, she is helping me to better understand myself, and to heal from my past. I’m so excited to see where this next chapter takes us.”
